General Information

What is RDC2026?
RDC2026 is the 5th Rural Development Conference, an international academic and professional gathering bringing together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, and community leaders working in the fields of rural development, agriculture, sustainable livelihoods, and community empowerment. The conference will be held from 1–3 November 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Where will the conference take place?
RDC2026 will be hosted in Bangkok, Thailand, at Radisson Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit. Full venue details and practical information will be included in the Conference Information Package sent to accepted participants.

Is the conference international?
Yes. RDC2026 welcomes participants from all regions and disciplines related to rural development, agriculture, environment, education, and community development.

Participation & Registration

Who can participate?
Researchers, academics, development practitioners, policymakers, NGO representatives, agribusiness professionals, educators, community leaders, students, and other stakeholders interested in rural development and agriculture are welcome to participate.

Can I participate without presenting?
Yes. You may register as an attendee and take part in all sessions, discussions, and networking activities without presenting a paper.

Do you offer remote participation?
Yes. RDC2026 offers options for remote presenters and remote attendees. Remote participants will receive access to an online platform for presentations and selected sessions.

How do I apply?
There are two main application routes:
  • Apply to present (for oral, poster, or virtual presentations)
  • Apply to attend (for non-presenting participants)

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis while space is available. Admission decisions are generally issued within 7 business days.

Submissions & Presentations

What types of submissions are accepted?
We welcome a variety of contributions relevant to rural development and agriculture, including:
  • Research papers
  • Case studies
  • Project reports and practical initiatives
  • Policy analyses and applied research
  • Work-in-progress and conceptual papers

What presentation formats are available?
You may choose from the following formats (subject to availability and suitability of the proposal):
  • Oral presentation (in person)
  • Poster presentation (in person or virtual)
  • Virtual presentation (live or pre-recorded, depending on the program)

Are submissions peer-reviewed?
Yes. All submitted proposals undergo a double-blind peer review process. Admission decisions are communicated by email.

What is the language of the conference?
English is the official working language of RDC2026.

Fees & Payment

What are the participation fees?
Detailed fee information is available on the Admission & Fees page. Fees depend on the type of participation (presenter or attendee), mode (in person or remote), and participant category where applicable.

How can I pay?
Payment instructions are provided upon acceptance. Typically, participation fees can be paid by bank transfer and credit card. All details and deadlines are included in the invoice and information package.

Do you offer group discounts?
Yes. Group rates may be available for institutions sending multiple participants. For information about group discounts, please contact the Conference Secretariat.

Travel, Visas & Accommodation

Do participants need a visa for Thailand?
Visa requirements depend on your country of citizenship and the regulations of the Kingdom of Thailand. Participants are responsible for checking the latest visa information with the nearest Thai embassy or consulate.
Upon request and after acceptance, the Conference Secretariat can provide an Official Invitation Letter to support visa applications.

Do you assist with accommodation?
Information on recommended accommodation options, including the conference venue hotel, will be provided in the Conference Information Package. Participants are responsible for making their own reservations.

Is Bangkok safe for international visitors?
Bangkok is a major international hub and a popular destination for visitors from around the world. As with any large city, participants are encouraged to take standard precautions and follow local guidance during their stay.

After Registration

When will I receive the Conference Information Package?
Accepted participants receive the Conference Information Package after confirming their attendance and arranging the applicable participation fee. The package includes details on the venue, program overview, accommodation suggestions, travel tips, and practical information.

Will I receive a Certificate?
Yes. All registered participants who attend the conference—whether in person or remotely—will receive an official Certificate of Participation issued by Tomorrow People Organization. Presenters will receive a Certificate of Presentation.

Will conference materials be available after the event?
Information regarding conference materials (such as program, abstracts, or proceedings, if applicable) will be shared with participants in accordance with the conference policies and publication plans.
